Class 100 Clean Room
A dust-free lab built to the international Class 100 / ISO 5 standard — the only safe place to open a hard drive.
A clean, dust-free room is essential when working on electronic storage devices.
For hard drive recovery to succeed, clean-room facilities must meet the international Class 100 (ISO 5) standard. This is absolutely vital when a drive has to be opened to repair or replace parts. At Data Recovery Mumbai we also use a Class 10 laminar flow system for the most delicate work.
One Speck of Dust Can Destroy Your Data
The platters and read/write heads inside a hard drive sit incredibly close to each other. Platters spin at thousands of RPM and attract dust and pollutants. If a particle gets between the head and the platter, the surface is scratched and the data in that area is lost for good. That is why a drive must only ever be opened in a clean-room lab.
Approximate sizes for comparison. The gap between a modern drive head and the platter is far smaller than even a smoke particle.
